Drew McCaffrey was born in New York and moved with his family to Colorado in 1996. He attended Colorado State University, graduating with a Creative Writing degree in 2012. He has worked for over a decade in the marketing and communications industries, never losing his passion for reading and telling stories. In 2019, he launched Inking Out Loud, a book review podcast, and in 2023 published "The Aquamancer's Gem", the first in a series of short works telling the grand story of the T'Kan Empire.

Drew currently lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife, Lauren. Together, they enjoy a steady stream of great books and craft beer.
